This week’s topic is about health, specifically exercise. This week is a slightly different format, let me know which you like better.

A person’s health is often taken for granted, being ignored until our bodies just can’t take it anymore. When I coach people who want to exercise more, I often hear – I don’t have the time, I can’t afford it, and it really isn’t that bad – when they speak about their health. Often people are hoping for a magic phrase that will help empower them to become more physically fit. Only you can help yourself, and you need to examine what motivates you. Why is exercise important to you? Exercise offers numerous benefits, but so often it is an ignored area of our life. Five of those benefits are…

Increase in cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, and flexibility Reduced stress More energy to accomplish those things that are important to you Longer life Decreased chance of getting sick Five things to think about on your outlook on exercise are… What would your life look like if you could exercise more? What is the number one benefit you receive from exercising? What defines exercise for you – hot, sweaty workouts; walking the dog; chasing your kid around the couch; or something else? How much time do you need to exercise a week? What is one thing you can do to increase your physical activity this week?
